History


 On the 6th of August 2011 about 10 indiginous Igbo men met in a small village called " Klein Scharrel" Edewecht in Niedersachsen Germany to deliberate and share opinions about leaving in germany and oversea in general. One of the discussions was how to help people that in need in other to give them a better chance to live. After the deliberations, they agreed to form a charitable organization. Election took place on the same day. These officies below were being elected:


1) President/ Chairman

 2) Vice President/ Chairman

3) Treasurer

4) Assistant Treasurer

5) Secretary

6) Assistant Secretary

7) Provost

8) Assistant Provost

9 ) Event Manager

 10) Assistant Event Manager.


Tenor of office is two years after which new election will be carried  out. The  members later chose a name for their organization called " Igbo- Union We lfare Oldenburg"and in 2014 the organizat ion was registered in the city of Oldenburg and it is called " Igbo-Union Welfare  Oldenburg e.V.
