                                                    WATER IS LIFE 

Water is one of the basic things human being needs to live. Ladies and gentlemen, I am standing here today before you to tell the nightmare of water situation in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. I experienced it as a child and likewise most of you Nigerians here in particular.

Hospitals, Schools, town and Villages are suffering from the agony of non-running water system. It sounds unbelievable, that in Nigeria today still hundreds of kids walking kilometers just to fetch no even five liters of water for their parents or family.

Hundreds, if not thousands of children loses their life while trying to fetch water from the river. As a child they underrate the deepness of the river and thereby getting drowned. Our ageing parents and grandparents cannot work a distance of about 15 kilometer depending where you live just to fetch water. How long is this nightmare going to last. In Nigeria today, it will not be long a liter of water will be costing more than a liter of fuel.

Distinguish guest, Igbo Union has come out today to pick up this challenge and with your support we will render help where it´s mostly needed. The Union is making plans of 12 Boreholes with overhead tanks in a year for hospitals, schools, towns and villages.
